Colleen Flynn is an experienced public relations and communications professional seeking employment with a leading PR agency committed to innovation and authenticity in the people it hires, the clients it works with, and the PR strategies it employs. She is interested in media relations and digital strategies for startups, consumer products, ecommerce and fashion, and CSR.
Most recently Colleen served as a graduate intern with the public affairs agency APCO Worldwide in its London office. She worked on media relations for GE tech and healthcare accounts, contributed to several new business development pitches, and did ongoing research, analysis, and media monitoring work for a variety of consumer, corporate, and government accounts. Prior to APCO, she served for three years as the manager of communications and media relations with LIFT, a national anti-poverty nonprofit, where she directed a successful rebranding campaign and implemented strategies for internal communications, press outreach, social media, digital communication, publications, and celebrity engagement. She served as a panelist at the Center for Nonprofit Success’s 2011 Washington DC Social Media Summit and was formerly a member of Washington Women in Communications. She has experience creating and leading communications efforts for a variety of cause-centered organizations and campaigns, including the Cambridge Housing Authority and VDay events in D.C. and Providence.
Colleen received her B.A. in English and Spanish degree from Providence College in 2007, and she completed her M.S. in Public Relations at Boston University in 2012. She is a Massachusetts native and currently resides in South Boston, where she enjoys hiking, the beach, fashion blogs, thrift store shopping, travel and roadtrips, Boston sports, oldies music, and finding new ways to feed her inner adrenaline junkie.
