“Some day I’m going to travel to every country,” I announced to my friend late one night at a teteria in Granada, Spain. I repeated it often as we traveled throughout Europe on our first trip abroad together. As I was experiencing “pinch me” moments at every turn, I knew that all I wanted to do was figure out how to see the world. At the time, my friend scoffed at the idea (and still does as an inside joke). Every country?
While every country might seem crazy, I figured that attempting and falling short would be a heck of a lot more fun than not trying at all. I’m still chipping away at that list, and I like that list organized. Wunderlist is a standard to-do list app, but it’s a really great tool for segmenting your bucket lists into actual buckets. I can plot out my top international destinations, national parks in the U.S. by state, backyard exploring in New England, and breweries to try around Boston. I’ve put my summer and winter bucket lists in here (e.g. host a tie-dye making party; plan a Mighty Ducks-themed ice skating outing), and I’m updating my 30 before 30 (Plus 2) list as well.
You can set due dates and reminders, sync it with your Google calendar, and cross items off after you complete them. The app also allows you to email lists (or share them in Pro) and save web pages with a sharing extension, so we’ll be using Wunderlist to plot our cross-country roadtrip. What tools do you use to organize your bucket list?
